Simple Beginnings

After discovering there were several ways of doing Mosaic Crochet, I became completely consumed by the whole process but the different techniques and different styles of charts became confusing. I eventually discovered my own way and Overlock Crochet is the humble beginning of my soon to be released, CRO-FAUX Technique. I have learned so much from some amazing designers, and combined it with knowledge passed on from my Amazing Nana and Mam, both of whom have extensive experience in the world of Yarn and Fabric. I hope to share with you over time, as much as I am able, and pass on these precious skills to all that wish to learn.

About The Technique

This is a simple design for a basic square to demonstrate the new ‘BINARY LANGUAGE’ and chart style that CRO-FAUX will use. This method makes designing patterns super easy!

I used DK weight yarn and a #4 hook which produced a square 20cm/7.5inch approx but any yarn and hook can be used!

This pattern is based on overlay mosaic using the Lock Stitch to make the design with a negative image on the reverse.

You DO NOT turn your work on this version, but make each row in one colour and fasten off each end.

In the next pattern installment, I will show you how to turn Overlock into CRO-FAUX (Continuous Reversible Overlay)
