If you are looking for a mindless pattern this one is it! Once you have a good understanding of the increases you do not need to carry the pattern around with you. It is extremely easy to memorize!

The model with the Lion Brand Mandala used all but about 10 yards of two skeins. The solid color poncho used five (5) skeins of Nob Hill, Cat’s Meow. I basically ended up using the same amount of yarn on these two ponchos. However, the solid color one has fewer increases. But is still more than adequate for an adult. I just wanted to see how it would turn out using fewer increases but the same amount of yarn.

My lovely test knitter, Norita W., used three different colored yarns to make her stripes. Plus she made it a crew neck and not a turtle neck. Pattern includes either style of neck.

This poncho can be worn four (4) different ways. The “spines” can be worn like a raglan or down the centers and shoulders. Or turn it “inside out” and wear it without the spines! Both ways look great. Your choice.
