Reversible Tunisian Mitts
The Tunisian simple stitch creates a thick, squishy fabric, perfect for keeping cold hands warm during the harsh Texas winter. In this easy introductory pattern, you will learn the basics of Tunisian crochet. The pattern is worked flat, then blocked and sewn together using the mattress stitch. Then, a crochet lace border is added to finish off the mitt.
Gauge is not vital, as you will measure your hand to get the correct fit, and are able to “cast on” as many stitches as you deem necessary to make the mitt as long or short as you like.
This requires two skeins of different colors of DK weight yarn to achieve the striped and houndstooth pattern on either side of the mitt.
