Rewind Tank
Pricing update: I have increased my prices to more accurately represent the work that has gone into the making of my patterns. All my patterns have increased in prices, however my newer designs have increased more than my old ones, as I feel I have learned a lot over the years and the quality of my newer designs is higher. The price listed reflects what I believe is fair for the work put into the design, however I understand that the price increases may be inaccessible to some and am offering some tiered discounts for those that need them.
A “Choose What You Pay” model is available for this pattern, allowing both financial accessibility and fair pricing. The buyer may pay what they are able while still valuing the hard work invested to create this design. Use the codes below in order to pay the price listed after each. Choose whichever price works best for you!
- No Code – Full Price = $15.00 CAD
- PK10 – 10% off = $13.50 CAD
- PK20 – 20% off = $12.00 CAD
- PK30 – 30% off = $10.50 CAD
I also offer a Buy 3, Get 1 Free discount! Add any 4 of my patterns to your cart, and use the code BUY3GET1 to get the 4th pattern free! Note: the free pattern will be the lowest priced pattern.
The Rewind Tank is a super simple, classic tank, that is a perfect staple piece for layering or as a summer piece! It is knit in collaboration with The Frosted Stitch Grunge collection, and has a sister design, the Mosh Pit Mesh top, which I designed to layer over top of the Rewind Tank! The tank is knit top down, knit flat in front/back sections, then joined after the arm hole and knit in the round. It has a stockinette body with the option for shaping throughout the waist/torso. It features a rounded scoop neck in both the front and back, with medium thickness straps. It is a size inclusive design, written in sizes every 2 inches from 26” - 64” bust. It is intended to fit with 0-4 inches of negative ease.
Sizes offered:
26(28, 30, 32){34, 36, 38}(40, 42, 44){46, 48, 50}(52, 54, 56){58, 60, 62, 64}
These sizes reflected the FINISHED bust measurements in inches of the tank. The tank is designed for 0-4 inches of negative ease. To determine the size you wish to knit, measure your bust (I recommend using your upper bust measurement rather than your full bust if you have a fair bit of a difference between those measurements), and subtract 0-4 inches to find the closest size. If you are in between sizes, size down for a snugger fit, or up for a looser fit. My sample is knit with about 1.5 inches of negative ease.
Note: If you are fairly busty, you may want to use a higher negative ease, or knit a size based on your upper bust measurement rather than your full bust measurement, this will help prevent the tank being too loose around the rest of your torso.
Needles recommended:
4.5 mm / US 7 / UK 7
Use a cord length to match your size bust measurement (or slightly smaller)
You may need other size needles to meet gauge.
Gauge (blocked):
Using 4.5 mm needles and working in stockinette in the round.
I recommend also swatching flat, as the first part of the tank is knit flat before joining in the round. If your flat gauge is significantly different than your round gauge, you can adjust needle size for the flat portion.
4” x 4” = 20 sts x 26 rows/rounds
Make sure to block your swatch, as this can significantly change the size of your swatch depending on your fiber choice. Keep in mind that the weight of the finished tank may add a little extra stretch.
Note: If your stitch count is correct for gauge but row/round count is a bit off, continue using this needle size, but keep in mind you may need to adjust your length by adding rounds.
Yarn recommended:
Any DK (3) weight yarn that you can get gauge with. You could also hold two strands of fingering together in place of a DK yarn.
I used Deep Freeze DK from The Frosted Stitch in one of her upcoming Grunge colourways (Lithium).
A great commercial alternative is KnitPicks Swish DK.
