The next pattern in my RGB-series is this pattern for mittens.

This pattern contains 2 different constructions of mittens knitted in 2 different ways, so a total of 4 different models. One version is knitted like a classic mitten with either long ribbing to fold double around the wrist or single layer ribbing over the wrist. This mitten can be knitted as fingerless mitts or with a closed tip on both the hand and thumb. The second version is knitted in single ribbing throughout. Either with a single layer over the wrist or a double folded layer. The mitten in single ribbing is knitted in a version without a thumb and with a short part over the hand. The other is knitted with an open thumb and a longer part over the hand that can be folded twice and become as a long sleeve over the hand.

All versions of the mittens are knitted from the bottom and up the hand. The variations you have to decide on before you start are whether you want double layer of ribbing over the wrist, knit all in single ribbing or switch to stockinette stitch over the hand. You must also consider whether you want an open tip or not. How much yarn you need depends on the choices you make. The mittens are designed in one size, but I have made a section at the bottom of the pattern with tips on how to adjust the size. The versions in the pattern have the following measures:

Wrist width: 7 cm/ 2,8 inches
Width starting thumb: 7-9 cm/ 2,8-3,5 inches
Length start to end wrist: 11-17 cm/ 4,3-6,7 inches
Length from wrist to thumb: 5 cm/ 2 inches
Length from thumb to start decrease: 9 cm/ 3,5 inches
Length decreasing: 4 cm/ 1,6 inches
Length thumb: 3 - 5 cm/ 1,2-2 inches
