This dramatic to wear, fun to knit shawl was inspired by a guitar built by my husband. He saw a
green dragon in the wood grain of the guitar body he was working on, so “Rhaegal”, the guitar
took flight from his vision! The name comes from the much vaunted “Game of Thrones” fantasy
series, so what does a dragon-nerd like me do?

I knit a shawl to match, of course!

Rhaegal’s Wing is worked using short row construction to form the wing “points”. The color fading sections alternate between squishy garter stitch and subtly patterned stockinette to
evoke the soul of the dragon, complete with teeth and scales!
