The simple joys of discovering yarn shops, finding the perfect skeins of exciting new yarns and then casting on in a beautiful location. That is a Knitcation!

Take this simple design anywhere you go even if your Knitcation is the hour you have of peaceful knitting on the subway to work. We can all find the perfect moments to hold our needles and free our minds of everyday living.

This shawlette starts with casting on 3 stitches and grows in stages and ends with a foldover edge that creates a tunnel to thread the skinny end through. This sits wonderfully in place over your shoulders and the colours will add some fashion to anything you wear.

First sample:
I used 4 balls of Pro Lana Ocean Long Striping,
50 grams 110 m each.
100% Cotton. Colour #26

2 balls colour #408 (87gr. leftover).
Contrast stripes and edge: Berroco Vintage DK 40% wool, 60% acrylic. 100gr. 265 meters.
1 skein colour # 2192 (68 gr. leftover).

This pattern will knit beautifully in any DK weight yarn. You may wish to change your needle size to find a good drape for the yarn you choose.
