Rialto Bridge Shawl
This trapezoid shawl creation
inspired by my travels to Venice, naming it Rialto Bridge Shawl
but it is truly an ode to all the bridges of Venice.
In this shawl you see my interpretation of the famous bridge,
some of it structure reflected with stitches
and the water represented by shell stitches and the bridge
somewhat mirrored in it.
I also wanted a shawl that was more on the larger size,
something with good coverage. It measures (unblocked)
140cm x 60cm using DK yarn (I have used 3.5 balls of Yarnsmiths Lagoon DK) and a 5.5mm hook.
I would recommend this pattern for the
beginner-intermediate crocheter,
familiar with basic stitches and ready to learn something new ;)
The wrap works up quickly making 3 small triangles,
joining them and crocheting around the bottom around all 3.
I hope you enjoy making this garment.
There is picture-help for some of the steps/ stitches,
and if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to message me.
UK as well as US terms available as well as ‘short’ printer friendly versions.
Ciao, Claudia x
