Rib and wrap mitts
Looking for a quick and easy project? The pattern repeat for these Rib and Wrap mitts is easy to memorise making it suitable for confident beginners and more experienced knitters alike, using circulars and magic loop, or dpns.
A handy photo tutorial is provided for the wrapped stitch technique to assist your knitting of these snazzy mitts in your favourite dk weight yarn.
Pattern includes sizing for: teen/adult small (approx. 6.5” or 16.5 cm), adult medium (approx. 7.5” or 19 cm) and adult large (approx. 8.5” or 21.5 cm). Within the pattern, the instructions for size S are given first, the instructions for size M and L follow in brackets.
Gauge: 6 stitches and 8 rows in 1 inch (2.5cm) in K4, P2 rib before blocking with your larger needles.
Supplies:
Approximately 150-200 yards (140-180m) dk weight yarn that knits to gauge. Sample was knit using Sublime Extra Fine Merino Wool DK, 127yds/1.76ounces (166m/50gms).
US 4 (3.5mm) needles (circular or dpns) for cuff (or one size smaller than your main needle) and US 5 (3.75mm) needles (circular or dpns) (or size to achieve gauge) for the rest of the mitt.
Needle for sewing in ends.
Waste yarn.
3 stitch markers: one should be distinct as your beginning of round marker.
