This is a classic hat with a wide folded brim and a firm fit through the crown. Designed so it can be worn close to the head with an exaggerated brim, or worn a little higher .

Rib brim beanie overview:

  • This hat is knit in the round from the bottom up.
  • The folded brim is worked in 1x1 rib and the crown is worked in stockinette stitch
  • To fit a head circumference of 55-58cm
  • Gauge: 23 stitches = 10cm in stockinette stitch in the round
  • 2 strands of yarn held together throughout

You will need:

  • 100g Lana Gatto VIP (50g/200m)
  • 1 stitch marker
  • 4mm circular needles (or size to achieve gauge) - you may wish to switch to DPNs when the circumference gets smaller, or continue with circular needles and use the magic loop method
  • Scissors
  • Darning needle
