Ribbed and Buttoned Cowl
Please note a mistake that was brought to my attention that I will fix shortly. BUT,
The paragraph that says:
Begin repeat pattern by alternating Rows 1 and 2….Knit 9 more rows.
It should say, knit 8 more rows. Knitting 9 rows puts you on a WS row when you should be on a RS row.
thank you.
Sean
This pattern/design has been knocking around in my head for a little while, asking to be born.
I sketched thinking that a twisted 1x1 rib on each side of the stretchy 2x2 rib would give the button band some stability. And when it was done….well, I just fell in love.
By changing how you button this when wearing it…the different looks you can achieve are almost limitless. And I haven’t even played with skewing the buttons and button holes to see what happens there.
Gauge is important here. I used nearly the entire skein. So please make sure your gauge is correct…or maybe buy an extra skein. Most LYS have a return policy just for these reasons…and if you don’t use it you can return it or knit another cowl.
I hope you enjoy it and wear it in good health
