These mittens were developed as a partner to the slouchy beanie pattern intended to provide more warmth than wrist warmers, but to still allow use of fine motor skills without restriction from gloves or full mittens. Using worsted weight yarn allows the mittens to protect the covered part of the hands from cool breezes and temperatures.

They can be knit with a partial thumb, or no thumb at all.

One 50g of worsted weight yarn makes one pair in the average adult size.
