MATERIALS:
1) for double layer hat with a lapel

• short circular needles 40 cm 3 mm (16 in US 2.5) for knitting the outer part of the hat;
• short circular needles 40 cm 2,5 mm (16 in US 1.5) for knitting the inside part of the hat;
• circular needles 80-100 cm 3 mm (32 in- 40 in US 2.5) or double pointed needles 3 mm (US 2.5) for knitting crown of the hat;
• circular needles 80-100 cm 2,5 mm (32 in- 40 in US 1.5) or double pointed needles 2,5 mm (US 1.5) for knitting the crown of the inside of the cap;
• markers;
• tape measure;
• crochet hook 2,5-3 mm (US C-2);
• wool needle.

Note: A crochet hook is required for cast on live stitches. For cast on live stitches we use the crochet chain method.

2) for single layer hat with double lapel

• short circular needles 40 cm 3 mm (16 in US 2.5);
• circular needles 80-100 cm 3 mm (32 in- 40 in US 2.5) or double pointed needles 3 mm (US 2.5) for knitting top of the hat;
• markers;
• tape measure;
• wool needle.

MAIN PATTERN:
Main pattern – 3x1 ribbing (K3, P1).

GAUGE OF MAIN PATTERN:

28 stitches х 34 rows = 10x10 cm (4x4”) for knitting 3x1 ribbing on 3 mm (US 2.5) needles after blocking.

YARN: 150-180 m (160-190 yds) in 50 g (1.75 oz) for merino wool yarn, merino wool + alpaca yarn.
