On standard, Passap & Superba machines use a fingering weight yarn such as Tamm 3 ply Astracryl and strive for a gauge of 14 stitches/10 rows/inch if all of the needles involved are counted. There will actually be 7 stitches on each face of the fabric in a given inch. For mid-gauge and bulky machines choose a light worsted weight yarn and strive for a gauge of 8 stitches/6 rows/” if all needles are counted. Probably stitch size to get this gauge is around the middle of the dial. There will actually be 4 stitches on each face of the fabric in any given inch. The numbers for the bulky version appear first with numbers for standard version in brackets like these . If you cannot match the gauge perfectly, strive for the stitch gauge over the row gauge, then adjust the number of rows knitted so that each segment is the length desired.
