This pattern is English and Japanese

Ribbed stripe seems sometimes unattractive at reverse stocking stitch part. But if you knit first row of alternating colors in stocking stitch, it becomes orderly line. This small tip is introduced Japanese most famous knitting site ‘Tata & Tatao’ (http://www.tata-tatao.to/). I want to introduce it and write this pattern.

Materials
Yarn; dk weight yarn, 1 ball for main shade and 1 ball for contrast color
Needles; 4mm or appropriate needle (40cm circular and dpns)
Notions; 2 (3) Buttons, Tapestry needle

Measurements
Tension; 24 stitches x 34 rows in striped rib pattern
Size; 4-6 years, (7 years – adult women)

ゴム編みで縞を編む場合、普通に編むと裏目の部分に配色糸が混ざってしまい、すっきり見えない事があります。糸を変える最初の段を全て表編みにする事により、裏目の部分の見え方が変わってきます。このことは「たた&たた夫の編物入門」に紹介されています。このちょっとしたコツを使って、ネックウォーマーのパターンを作ってみました。地糸１玉と配色糸1玉で編めるので、手持ちの毛糸で編むのにちょうどよいパターンになっていると思います。

材料
毛糸; 並太程度の毛糸、地糸と配色糸各1玉
編み針; 6号針または必要なゲージを得られる号数の針(40cm 輪針と棒針)
※棒針は、ネックウォーマーのボタン付け側のタブを編む時にあると便利です。
その他必要なもの; ボタン2(3)個、綴じ針
