Ribbed Toddler Mitts
Little ribbed mitts that will grow with your toddler.
CO 28 tubular rib, 3.75mm dpns.
14 rounds K1,P1 rib.
Increase for thumb at the beginning of the round as follows:
M1R, K1, M1L, P1,K1, P1.
One round in rib for hand, stockinette for the thumb stitches.
Continue to increase every other round until there are 11 thumb sts. One more round in rib and stockinette, then put thumb sts on waste yarn, backward loop cast on 1 sts which will replace the knit stitch that is at the center of the thumb sts.
Continue rib for hand for another 9 rounds, tubular sewn bind off. (@4.5 inches/11cm from cast on)
Pick up thumb sts, pick up 2 at the base of the thumb, knit to the end, then on next round k2tog at the beginning of the round, ssk at the end of the round; stockinette for 1 round, begin rib, then at the end of that first round k2tog the 2 knit sts you come to, rib another round, tubular BO.
Each mitt used about 15g of yarn.
