The RibRib Socks are a basic pair of 2x2 ribbed socks. The ribbing is knit all over the sock, including the toes and heels. I love an all-over ribbed texture, it makes the sock snug while also being incredibly stretchy. These socks are knit toe up and use my favorite German Short Row heel construction. Knitting a pair of socks that is entirely done in ribbing is a labor of love, but the finished product has a sleek and fancy look with a gorgeous fit. Enjoy!

YARN
Bilum Sock in the repeat gradient colorway “Summer Sunrise”. 75% merino, 25% polyamide, 100 grams, 437 yards (400 meters)

YARDAGE
Adaptable, 250-440 yards (229-400 meters). I had two 50 gram skeins and since the socks are knit toe up, I knit until I ran out of yarn.

SIZING
One size. These socks have a total stitch count of 64 stitches which I have found to be a very popular choice for many sock knitters. Because these socks are knit in ribbing all over, 64 stitches will fit almost all adult feet. The finished sock ends up quite narrow and extremely long, but the ribbing can stretch widthwise enough to accommodate anyone comfortably, while the length of the sock shrinks a bit as it stretches wider.

CONSTRUCTION
Ribrib socks are knit toe up starting with Judy’s Magic Cast On. Make one increases shape the toe, and the heel is knit using German Short Rows, the 2x2 rib is worked throughout the sock.

GAUGE
28 sts x 44 rows equals 4” x 4” (10 cm) in 2x2 ribbing, blocked.

NEEDLES AND NOTIONS
• US 0 (2mm) knitting needles. I use long circular needles for magic loop, but feel free to use your preferred style of needle. Also feel free to use whichever needle size you would normally feel comfortable using to knit a fingering weight sock.
• If you are not knitting magic loop, you will need 2 ring stitch markers.
• Darning or tapestry needle for weaving in ends.
