Appalachian Knits

With a focus on beautiful and practical knits, Jennifer Sadler and Christina Danaee bring you a collection of designs made with yarns produced in the fiber rich region of Appalachia.
Richland
The Richland mitts are a pair of colorful, cozy fingerless mitts perfect to keep your hands toasty from Autumn to Spring. Made with sport weight yarn, they are durable, yet beautiful, and their tiled color work pattern was created to pay homage to the historical Cherokee Indian basket patterning from the Appalachian mountain region. The sample was knitted with sport weight yarn from Bovidae Farms located in Mars Hill, NC. Jim and Rose have been caring for sheep on their mountain farm since 1990. The yarn produced from their sheep is dense and supple, filled with natural lanolin oils for soft wool and soft hands.
