This pattern was designed specifically for the 2023 Puget Sound LYS Tour for Needles and Hooks yarn in Lake Forest Park, WA.

Inspired by the decorative look of rickrack, this versatile design uses a simple combination of single and double crochet to create an interesting wavy pattern. This design pays homage to the many uses of rickrack, which started around 1860 and still gets used today. From decorative apron edgings to dressing up flour sacks made into clothing, rick rack is a classic. Step back in time with this throwback, or use it to update your modern look.

Pattern includes instructions for a slouchy hat, a cinched hat with convertible cowl option, and another cowl, or use the pattern repeats to make your own design.
