Ridge line mitts
A simple colourwork mountain range decorates the cuff of these quick to work mitts. Made using aran yarn they knit up fast and make for cosy hands. The colourwork requires just a little of each yarn, making it perfect for using up scraps.

Yarn: MC- 50 (60, 70)g, CC1 – 5 g, CC2 – 5 g aran weight yarn, 150 m / 90 g.
Shown in: A Little Bit Sheepish British Shetland aran in MC- “Vulcan”, CC1- “Pales”, CC2- “Juno”; 100% wool; 150 m / 90 g.
Needles: 4.5 mm / US 7 double pointed needles or circular needle(s) for working in the round on a small circumference, 60 cm / 24” length suggested.
5.0 mm / US 8 double pointed needles or circular needle(s) for working in the round on a small circumference, 60 cm / 24” length suggested.
Notions: Tapestry needle, stitch markers, safety pins or waste yarn for holding stitches.
Skills: Cast on, working in the round, knit, purl, colourwork, increasing stitches, cast off, weaving in ends.
Gauge: 17 sts and 24 rows over 10 cm / 4” in stocking stitch.
Sizing: Pattern gives stitch counts for small (medium, large) adult hand size, approximately equivalent to a palm circumference of 17.5 (20, 22.5) cm / 6 ¾ (7 ¾, 8 ¾)”.
