These mittens are the perfect project to use that skein of fingering/sock yarn that you just couldn’t pass up or to give you the perfect excuse to buy a skein from your favorite hand-dyer.

These mittens work up fairly quickly and are pretty easy to make! This is a fun and satisfying project for any level of crocheter, although this is an intermediate level pattern. This pattern includes a photo tutorial.
and only includes instructions for adult sized mittens.

This ear warmer uses about 340 yards of Fingering/Sock CYC Weight 1 yarn (which is held double for most of the mitten), 4.5mm and 3.25mm crochet hooks, 2 small buttons, and a yarn needle for weaving in ends. I used The Zippy Zebra Baby Alpaca Sock, but you could use any sock/fingering weight yarn you would like.

Gauge is 4” square = 15 single crochet by 22 rows with yarn held double.

This pattern, like all of my patterns, has been thoroughly tested by skilled fiber artists.
