Ridgeway Pullover
The Ridgeway Jumper is named after the Ridgeway path which is an ancient track which runs quite close to my home. The cable patterns make me think of the white chalk paths snaking their way through the landscape as I gaze across from the ridges of the hills on a long walk along. And this jumper is just the thing to wear on a walk like that. Large pockets to keep your hands warm and to carry your phone in. It is roomy and comfortable and the waffle stitch is good for protecting you from the breeze.
This loose fitting jumper is designed to have 10-15cm of positive ease. It is worked in pieces from the bottom up. It has dropped saddle shoulders. The main pieces are in Waffle Stitch pattern with decorative Cable Stitch pattern and a single garter stitch at each edge for seaming. The large pockets, in the side seams, are worked on sts picked up from the back piece and the pocket edges are worked as part of the front piece. The top of the sleeves continue into the saddle shoulder straps. The buttons are for decoration only; there are no buttonholes.
The waffle stitch uses more yarn than some other stitches. Make sure you have plenty of yarn to complete your jumper.
