Gently waving twisted stitch ribbons take center stage in the drop-shoulder vest. Small nupps centered in every other ribbon enhance the verticality of this versatile vest.

Acadia, a very soft, slightly slubbed, DK weight yarn from the Fibre Co, was used for the sample. Shown here over a turtleneck, the yarn is actually soft enough to wear over a simple tee, next to the skin.

Suggested Yarn Weight: DK / Size 3

Yarn Amounts: As with every KnitWiz pattern, yarn estimates will vary based on your measurements. Note however, that this pattern will use more yarn than an equivalently sized stockinette vest.

Construction: The body is knit in-the-round to the arm openings, then knit flat to the shoulders. After seaming, stitches are picked up around the neck opening and knit in pattern to create a mock-turtle banding.

Fit
This project is proportioned for adults. It is designed to fit loosely, with 5-7 inches (13-18 cm) of positive ease.

Experience Level
This pattern may include complex stitch patterns, color work, and or/shaping using a variety of techniques and stitches simultaneously.

Recommended Tension/Gauge
Tension, or gauge, is actually determined from your swatches. To give you an idea of tension, the designer swatched “mock cable ribbing” using US 5 needles and found the gauge to be 7 sts and 8 rows per in.

Extra Supplies
Long Circular needle (US 5 used in sample). Optional Crochet Hook - size F5 for nupps. Stitch markers
