Right Side of the Tracks Scarf

Written line by line (abbreviated) pattern.

Sideways faux brioche ribbing stripes. Looks exactly like brioche ribbing but worked with traditional knitting stitches.

This is a great short cut, easier to maintain tension, no confusing for new learners acronyms and manipulations.
A two row/two stitch repeat as the main pattern

Very easy to modify: For length, +/- multiples of 2 per +/- inch desired.

Long tail cast on and blocking are necessary for this project.

Materials

238 y 217 m of chunky/bulky 7- 8 wpi

Grey sample used Berroco Weekend Chunky

Blue green sample used Cascade Pastaza Paints*

US 10.5 (6.5mm) circular needle 32” long -
for CO only

US 10 (6mm) or 9 (5.5 mm) circular needle 32” long -for main body pattern – if you are a loose knitter use the sz 9

Your needle yarn combo should make a very tight knit if working stockinette – this pattern expands greatly and the stitches enlarge once you’ve worked about 4 rows.

2 stitch markers (for denoting the garter ends)

A single US 13 (9mm) needle of any type - straight, circ, or DPN (for the extra loose BO)

Measurements

Aprox. 81 “ by 5.5” (206 by 14 cm) after blocking

I found the best yarn for the project is plump and smooth, either cable twisted (tight multi strand), chainette construction, or single ply.
