This children’s cardigan features a textured stitch pattern, a shawl collar, set-in sleeves, and practical pockets, making it a versatile, gender-neutral design.

The cardigan is worked in separate front and back panels, with the bottom ribbing integrated as you go. Short rows are added on each side to shape the armholes and v-neck opening.
After joining the shoulders, the band is added using slip stitch ribbing, with the shawl collar shaped by working several short rows. Instructions are provided to adjust buttonhole placement for either side (boys’ or girls’ version).
The set-in sleeves are shaped with short rows to form the sleeve cap and sides.

YouTube videos that demonstrate the stitches and techniques used are provided.
