Knit in the round, from the bottom up with ruffles added by picking up and knitting around the bottom and around the armholes. Striped version was knit changing colors every 5 rounds, stopping the stripe sequence when armhole shaping begins.

Additional useful tools: darning needle and stitch holders or spare yarn to hold stitches.
