This is classed as an advanced pattern, though an intermediate crocheter could manage it by just crocheting the individual hexagonal motifs and sewing them together (rather than the join-as-you-go method detailed in the pattern). Texture is added by use of the popcorn stitch.

Five colours are used, and the 100% merino yarn featured in this design is beautifully soft, though an equivalent-weight acrylic would also do well. You’ll need 3 skeins (50g, 165m) of four colours, and 4 skeins of the border colour.

Each motif measures 10 x 9.5cm, and the overall measurement of the blanket is 98.5 x 80cm. However, you can enlarge this by making more motifs.
