My husband is obsessed with Citroen cars, so a hat with their iconic chevrons built using simple cable stitches was a perfect present to keep his head warm while he is out in the garage restoring his fleet. The hat uses about 75 gramms of Chunky (USA bulky) yarn and is knit in the round with 5.5mm (USA size 9) needles.

The pattern includes the following different versions of the instructions, so you can use the format that suits you best
• Written instructions
• Short chart- showing one of the 15 stitch repeats and key on single page
• Full chart with all five 15 stitch repeats

The finished size is approximately:
• Height = 19 cm (7.5 inches)
• Width= 25 cm (9.9 inches)

The pattern is worked on repeats of 15 stitches, so you can make the hat wider by adding in stitches in multiples of 15. To increase the height of the hat work more rows in rib before starting the cable pattern.
