Ringmer
Inspiration: Taking a familiar stitch and exaggerating it is a favourite technique of mine and a simple way to achieve maximum impact. Using a sharp 2B pencil to sketch out cable patterns always takes me back to geography lessons at school, drawing wide sinuous curving rivers as they cut a path in the landscape down towards the sea forming oxbow lakes. Similarly, a meandering cable traverses the front of this classic vest shape – quick to knit in super chunky Maxi Wool - splitting at the centre point of the ‘v’ neck to create an integral neckband.
Construction: A short, oversized, sleeveless vest that is worked in panels of rib and cable patterns. A large cable on the centre front splits to create an integral V-neck. The back neck is worked in 1x1 rib to give a good fit.
