This scarf is a wonderful piece that combines a beautifully textured seed stitch with a dainty diamond lace rib to create a stunning accessory that goes with so many different outfits.
Finished scarf is 12” width, 55” length. However, if you want to make it longer or wider, it is pretty adjustable by knitting more rows/repeats of the lace.
The scarf uses a 3 stitch border of slipped stitches and garter stitch to provide a more polished look. The use of slipped stitches gives the edges a beaded look that goes perfectly with the texture of the seed stitch.
Joined in the middle with kitchener stitch, it’s a lovely garment to practice a new skill on since the join is done in a garter section of the scarf. Of course, if you’re not a fan of kitchener stitch, this piece still looks great if you just knit the entire thing straight. Instructions for knitting straight through without the kitchener joining method are at the end of the pattern.
I used Caron One Pound to make my scarf, but it is beautiful in any medium weight 4 worsted/aran yarn. Some substitute yarns would be Lion Brand Heartland, Wool-Ease or Vanna’s Choice, and Red Heart With Love or Soft.
