This crochet ripple pillow pattern is a quick and stylish project to make your house a home. I made mine using red and white sparkling yarn to create a Christmas crochet pillow using this pattern. To make a crochet Halloween pillow I recommend using black and orange. For my day-to-day living room pillows I have made a set in sage green and cream to complement our contemporary decor.

Finished pillow is 16” wide x 16” tall when made using 7 oz of bulky weight yarn and 6 oz of worsted weight yarn, a 5 mm/ H hook, a 16” x 16” pillow insert, and tapestry needle.

In the example I used 2 skeins each of Cascade Yarns’ Cherub Chunky in Ruby and Caron Simply Soft’s Party in Snow.
(
Cascade Yarns’ size 5 bulky weight is equivalent to every other brand’s size 4 worsted weight…)

To complete this pillow you will need:
7 oz/ 200 g/ 272 yds / 250m of size 5 bulky weight for Color A (really worsted weight unless you’re specifically using Cascade Yarn’s Cherub Chunky yarn)
6 oz/ 170 g/ 328 yds / 300 m of size 4 worsted weight for Color B
16” x 16” pillow insert
5 mm crochet hook
6 mm crochet hook, optional (only used for the starting chain)
Tapestry needle (like a sewing needle, but with an extra-large eye and blunt point)
Scissors
8 stitch markers, optional

Stitches you’ll need to know:
CH – chain
SC – single crochet
SS – slip stitch
DC – double crochet
SK – skip designated number of stitches
DC5Tog – double crochet 5 together
DC9Tog - double crochet 9 together

Pattern includes directions with full color photos of how to complete these stitches.

A chart of the stitches is included to help further explain how the DC9Tog and DC5Tog stitches are worked together to create the ripple.

Unlike chevron stitch crochet patterns, this ripple stitch crochet pattern creates a flat line on the top and bottom which makes sewing the two panels together a breeze!
