I dedicate this pattern to the memory of our little Miniature Dachshund Lena, who was born October 23, 2004 and passed over the Rainbow Bridge on July 26, 2021. She was our joy, our blessing and my knitting muse. Although I originally named my shop to honor my grandmother Lena who taught me to knit when I was 4 years old, I’m rededicating it our sweet and precious little companion. She was … and will always be … much loved.

This pattern will fit Medium Sized Dogs!

Many of my loyal buyers have asked for a new design for their beloved miniature dachshunds and Lena is always happy to parade around the neighborhood in her latest fashion statement, so I’ve come up with the VERY EASY “Lena’s Easy Ripple Stitch” sweater. Although the pattern looks complicated it’s a simple 2 stitch/4 row KNIT STITCHES ONLY pattern and the sweater is knitted flat, then joined invisibly. I’ve included instructions for ribbed sleeves made-in-the-round with double pointed needles, but you can crochet a single crochet or even a chain edging around the sleeves and still have a beautiful sweater for your dog.
