Ripple Stitch Washcloth
A free version is also available.
• DESCRIPTION
This pattern is going to teach you how to stitch the beautiful Ripple Stitch. This stitch gives a gorgeous texture to fabric and will add some scrubbing power.
• MATERIALS
About 135 yards of cotton or cotton blend yarn
(Such as Paintbox Yarns Cotton Aran or Lily Sugar n’ Cream.)
A 5.5 mm (or I) hook
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Stitch markers if desired.
• GAUGE & SIZING
Gauge (tension) isn’t very important in this project. Play around with hook sizes until you find one that makes a fabric you like. This pattern is written to produce a washcloth roughly 12 inches by 13
inches. Information on resizing is available in the pattern.
• ABBREVIATIONS & STITCHES USED
ch = chain
sk = skip
st = stitch
SC = single crochet
DC = double crochet
** = Repeat the instructions inside the asterisks the indicated number of times.
() Stitches within the parentheses are all worked into the same stitch

This pattern is the first in my Washcloth Collection.
Every other Saturday in 2021, I will release a washcloth pattern. Some will be lacy and light and some will be sturdy and dense. The first will typically, but not always, be free. The second will usually be paid.
At the end of the year, there will be an e-book for sale that contains all the patterns, plus 3 bonus patterns. (Thirty total)
By the end of the year you will have a lovely collection of washcloths and you will probably have learned some new stitches!
