-- All proceeds I receive from this pattern will be donated to Doctor’s Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières. --
Latest version is 2.0
The mitts are knit with 2 mini skeins (125 yards each) of our hand dyed fingering weight yarn, approx. 250 yards. The kits with yarn and pattern included are sold in our Etsy Shop, Emerald Lotus Fiberarts.
They are meant to fit snuggly, keeping your hands toasty warm, while the fold down cuff at the top can be unfolded to keep your fingers warmer. They fit a woman’s size medium (7 inches in circumference).
These mitts are knit in the round and no seaming is necessary.
Difficulty level is intermediate.
The stitches used are knit, purl, k2 together, ssk, make 1 left and make 1 right. The thumb is worked with a gusset. They are knit with fingering weight yarn.
Materials needed are: 230 to 250 yards of Fingering Weight yarn; size 1US/2.25mm needles: Magic Loop, 2 circulars or double pointed; Stitch markers; Scrap yarn to hold thumb stitches; Sewing needle.
