This delightful, modern bonnet is perfect to keep a baby warm and cosy during those colder months. Repeated garter stitch ridges create a ripple-like effect.

The bonnet is worked seamlessly in one piece, initially flat, and then in the round for the back shaping. The rib stitch band allows for a snug fit around the child’s face and head, while the garter stitch around the neck allows for a softer, yet still snug, fit.

You will need 4mm circular needles - or a set of straight needles for the main section, and DPNs for the crown, if desired - a sewing needle and a button.

Sizes: Premie, 0-3m, 3-6m, 6-12 months and 1-2 years.
Yarn: Superfine Merino by Cleckheaton (or any 8ply/DK merino)
This pattern uses between approximately 25 and 60g of yarn - perfect for using up leftovers!
Gauge: 22sts and 30 rows to 10cm in stocking stitch.
