Inspiration can come from anywhere. This table runner pattern mimics the gentle ripples in water created from a soft, spring rain. The motifs are crocheted individually, then attached together. With these instructions, you can create the layout shown here, or, by picking and choosing which motifs to make, you can create an unlimited array of configurations to fit any table shape and size!

LEVEL OF DIFFICULTY: MODERATE
This pattern is completed using mostly chains, half-double crochets, single crochets, and slip stitches. You will, however, need to know or learn how to use a Magic Circle and how to do a Seamless Join.

Consider this my disclaimer: Although the stitches used are simple, getting the motifs to come out flat might be a challenge, and that is why the level of difficulty is “Moderate.” As long as you can get the motif to flatten out by smoothing over it with your hand, blocking will make it stay flat. Please go into it with the knowledge that the motifs will not look flat as you make them, but if you’re patient, these motifs WILL lay flat. This cannot be stressed enough.
