Like ripples on a pond after tossing in a stone; reminiscent of texture on the desert mountains I see every day here in Nevada;
little pinpricks of ideas in the fun parts of our brains. Ripplescape is subtle in its patterning which reminds me of so many things in life, both visual and figurative.

The four shades used in this collection are available in both Shibui Knits Silk Cloud, and Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light, as
they’re part of a collaboration between the two companies this year. The overall weight of the yarn used when held together
is DK weight, so feel free to substitute fabric produced with the TML & Silk Cloud together is completely luscious, and is what
makes this piece special (in my humble opinion).

Ripplescape is worked from the top down, not quite seamlessly. The sleeves are knit flat for a few reasons – the stability
provided by the seam, the ability to continue knitting the pattern stitch flat, and to avoid jogs at the beginning of the round (if they were worked in the round). The front edging is knit separately and joined with mattress stitch to the body, creating a nice, stable edge.
