Finished Measurements: 73” in diameter, point to point
Yarn: Jamieson & Smith Jumperweight Shetland (1 oz/28g; 150yds/138m; wool) 1 skein each: Red #93, Orange #73, Yellow #91, Green #79, Blue #18, and Purple #20. 7 skeins Black #77.
Needles:
- Size 8 (5mm) needles in double-pointed (dpn) and circular, 16”, 24”, and 60” (40cm, 60cm, and 152 cm) long, or size to obtain gauge
- One size 10½ (6.5mm) needle for binding off
Extras:
- Stitch markers
- Small amount of crochet cotton or string
- Rust-proof T-pins
Blocked Gauge: 16 sts to 4”/10cm in St st using size 8 (5mm) needles
Notes:
- Shawl is knit from center outward. the center motif is an octagonal pinwheel, changing to a chevron for the rest of the piece.
- change from dpn to increasingly longer circular needles as number of sts permits.
