This hat can be customized to suit the knitter: Knit fewer or more repeats of the ribbing pattern and/or the ripply pattern for the length you prefer. Cast on fewer stitches on a larger needle and use sport yarn instead of fingering yarn. Change color for each pattern repeat if you like or use self striping yarn, variegated, intentional flash or anything you like.
