This is a one-skein shawl, using fingering weight yarn. We recommend Lucky Violet Color Co fingering/sock weight yarn bases Betty, Melinda, Lillith, or Beatrice. One of these mornings
You’re gonna rise up singing
So hush little baby, don’t you cry

Wrap yourself in this cushy, feminine bit of fluff and take a walk through the garden during the cool hours of early morning, coffee cup in hand. Think of yourself as being out on a dreamy picnic during the cool months, wind gently blowing, causing your petticoats to billow … just enough.

It is knit on size U.S. 8 needle in a sock weight yarn, but could just as well be knit on smaller needles in a lace weight to make it scarf/shawlette size rather than a shawl.

I chose “Peony”, a colorway that meant something personal to me. It reminds me of a beautiful flower I discovered growing on our farm shortly after I moved to Upstate New York a number of years ago. When I wear my shawl It brings to mind that lovely morning, here in my most special place on Earth.

I recommend searching for your own perfect colorway that reminds you of a memory you cherish, a time you would like to be wrapped up in.

This is a triangular shawl knit from the top down. I designed it to be easy and pleasurable to knit.
