To knit this cowl you need to know how to cast onstitches with any method, although the long tail castonis recommended, to knit, purl, and work in theround, to be familiar with the stranded colourworktechnique, to work following charted instructions, tomake increases and decreases and to bind off stitches.It is essential to be able to follow charted instructions,as they are used for the colourwork detail of the bodyof the cowl and written instructions are not provided.
CONSTRUCTION
This cowl is worked seamlessly in the round. It isworked top-down, starting with a ribbing, followed bythe body which is knit entirely in the colourwork motif,and finihed with a bottom ribbing.
GAUGE
21 stitches and 28 rounds in 10 x 10 cm 4 x 4” in
stockinette stitch, without blocking.
23 stitches and 28 rounds in 10 x 10 cm 4 x 4” in
colourwork motif, without blocking.
18 stitches and 26 rounds in 10 x 10 cm 4 x 4” in
colourwork motif, after blocking.
YARN
2 skeins, 1 in Colour 1 (main colour) and 1 in Colour
2 (contrast colour) of Rêverie by Soc Una Troca
(100% Superwash Merino; 220 m / 100 g; 240 yd
/ 3.52 oz).
With 2 skeins you will have enough yarn to knit two
cowls with inverted colours in any size.
The colourways used are Electric Violet and Clara’s
Dreams for the blue / pink version, and Café Au
Lait and Pumpkin for the beige / orange version.
NEEDLES
4 mm US 6 circular needles with a cable length
of 60 cm 24”, or the required needle size to obtain
gauge.
OTHER NOTIONS
1 stitch marker for the beginning of the round. Tapestry
needle to weave in ends.

Circumference: 50 (56, 61) cm 19.75 (22, 24)”.

This pattern is adjustable in height, by working
more or less pattern repeats you can get a longer
or shorter cowl, but keep in mind that if you decide
to make it longer, the yarn requirements
might increase. You can also adjust them easily to
make them narrower or wider in circumference, by
subtracting or adding 10 stitches to the smallest
or biggest size, respectively; each 10 stitches will
subtract or add 6 cm 2.25” of circumference
approximately. I.e., if you cast on 10 stitches less
for size 1, the cowl will have 80 stitches, which
would give you a circumference of 44 cm 17.25“
approximately. Just keep in mind that the colourwork
pattern is a multiple of 10 stitches, while the
ribbing is multiple of 4, so you may need to adjust
it accordingly.

Este cuello se teje en circular, de una sola pieza. Seteje de arriba abajo, empezando con un elástico, seguidodel cuerpo que se teje íntegramente en motivode colourwork, y se acaba con un elástico inferior.

Este patrón es adaptable en altura, haciendo
más o menos repeticiones del gráfico se puede
obtener un cuello más largo o más corto, pero ten
en cuenta que si lo haces más largo, los requerimientos
de lana se pueden incrementar. Además,
para hacerlos más estrechos o más anchos puedes
restar o añadir 10 puntos al número de puntos
de las tallas extremas, cada 10 puntos restará o
sumará unos 6 cm 2.25” de contorno. Es decir,
si a la talla 1 le restas 10 puntos te quedarían 80
puntos y el contorno que obtendrías sería de 44
cm 17.25“ aproximadamente. Ten en cuenta que
el patrón en colourwork es múltiplo de 10 puntos,
pero el elástico debe ser múltiplo de 4, y deberás
ajustarlo si es necesario.
