Rising Moon

When the moon rises above the horizon it is a subtle mix of shades of yellow and gold because of particles in the earth’s atmosphere. The lower the moon is on the horizon during moonrise or moonset makes the moon look much larger than when it is high in the sky, creating one of nature’s oldest optical illusions.
