Rivendell Tee
This design began as a fun lace top just for myself, but as I worked, I fell in love with it and decided to bring the pattern into the world--with a few tweaks. If you can’t already tell, the name is inspired by the classic “The Lord of the Rings” series. Rivendell is the land of the elves, a safe haven for the weary travelers on their quest to destroy evil once and for all. The soft green I chose to knit this in immediately reminded me of the lush valley, and the beautifully intricate lace panels on the front and sleeves are as elegant and timeless as Queen Arwen herself.
The Rivendell Tee features a stylish scooped neckline, drop sleeves, and a small amount of positive ease to create a flowy, flattering silhouette on any body type, and it can be dressed up or down depending on how you style it! If you’re anything like me, you’ll find yourself reaching for it again and again when the weather gets warm. The vast majority of the this design is done in soothing, repetitive stockinette stitch, and the lace design is simpler than it looks. Once you get the hang of it, you will feel like a true wizard! insert LOTR theme music here
For this project, I used Hobbii Baby Cotton Organic in Willow (30), a super soft and lightweight 100% Egyptian cotton yarn. It’s labelled category 1, but I’d say it’s on the heavier side of fingering weight, so make sure to knit a gauge swatch to ensure the correct fit. I really love working with this yarn, and I have plans to make many more summer designs with it! Check out all 41 colors of this dreamy yarn in Hobbii’s online shop.
