This is a deceptively complicated-looking knit (it’s not!) with impressive results. Only one color is knit in a row, slipping the other color when not in use, creating this “peek-a-boo” or “stained glass” effect. The simple cable and slipped stitches create a river appearance, with the secondary variegated color looking a bit like colored pebbles or cobblestone. A non-cable-needle technique is introduced to create the C3R; although, a cable needle may certainly be used (and the pattern is written using just C3R with the alternative option provided in the Important Notes section). Links to instructional videos are provided. The width of this cowl is also easy to adjust due to the repeating pattern.

Any two contrasting worsted weight yarns can be used.
