River Crossing Afghan
This afghan is easy to create for any skill level. Stitches used are dc and the cross-stitch and crab stitch (backwards single crochet for the border) as explained in the pattern. Pattern is worked back and forth in rows.
You will need the following yarns in these yardages:
Color A: 364 yards
Color B: 364 yards
Color C: 300 yards (this is the variegated as shown in the photos as the cross-stitch portion)
River Crossing is indicative of the children of Israel Crossing the Red Sea during the Exodus from Egypt with Moses, and the crossing of the Jordan River to reach the Promised Land with Joshua. This pattern is in honor of a friend who has been through her own wilderness wanderings as she waited for the adoption of her daughter to be final. God leads His children on to the Promised Land, often through a river that we cannot see a way to cross, yet He hold back the flow and we cross on dry land.
Thank-you to Carmen Carpenter who tested and edited this pattern. I appreciate your keen eye for detail and your friendship.
