Hello & welcome to the Riverdance shawl! This knitwear is designed to be both warm and lightweight with the combination of DK yarn and lace sections—ideal for autumn & spring!

It also has two fun fading sections to keep things interesting and the colors fun! Hopefully you have as much fun picking your colors as I did mine! (Plus it’s a good stashbuster). Ideally, you should be using either a variegated or speckle yarn to help the colors fade, but if you’re feeling solids, you do you!

I used two skeins of Queen City Yarn’s new Biddleville DK!

This pattern has a three section repeat—the garter section, the stockinette section, and finally the lace section. It ends with a garter tab.

I’ve included a lace chart and diagram of the construction at the bottom of the pattern for those of you who are more visual learners.

One last thing before you start—your knitting is yours. If you don’t like how I’ve laid out the fade, change it to the way you like it. You’re the boss of your own knitting!

Cheers to flying needles!
