River Lea Rambles Hat
Those of us lucky enough to live within reach of the River Lea in Hertfordshire can enjoy a ramble along its banks. This pretty river is full of variety and twists and turns: one minute you are walking through woods, another you have a long view over the marshes or farmland. A hat like this one will keep you warm and snug on your walks and the twists and turns of its cables will keep you entertained as you knit.
This hat looks more complicated than it is. It uses standard cables and 2 x 2 rib – just work one row at a time and you will soon have your own hat full of meandering cables.
This pattern is suitable for an intermediate knitter. The hat is worked flat and seamed. Instructions are given in both written and charted forms.
