Here’s a video about how to place beads for this pattern.
Lacy ribbons twine down the bottom edge of this asymmetrical shawl like a swiftly churning river, accented with sparkling beads. As the shawl grows, the lace section and the lines of beads slowly increase in size. The entire shawl is framed by a delicate lace edging.
This shawl is worked from one tip to the opposite edge. Once the pattern is established, it increases approximately one stitch every four rows. Separate increases are included in the lace section along the bottom.
The size and appearance of the shawl can be adjusted by working more or fewer repeats of each section of the pattern. Gauge is not critical for this pattern, but using a different yarn weight or needle size will affect the size of the finished shawl.
The use of beads for this pattern is optional. The pattern as written uses about 15 g of 6/0 seed beads.
Instructions are both written and charted.
