The River Path Shawl Knitting Pattern:
The River Path Shawl is a delightfully simple yet captivating knit. This bottom-up triangle shawl is shaped with decreases, allowing your rows to become shorter and your progress to pick up speed as you near the finish line. Perfect for relaxing, meditative knitting, this shawl features soft, undulating lace that echoes the gentle movement of a river’s path. The lace pattern is easy to memorize, making it an enjoyable project for knitters of all levels. Wrap yourself in the beauty of nature with this timeless and versatile design!
For information about creating a consistent fabric with a stretchy edge when working with variegated yarn, reference the blog post Achieving a Seamless Finish: Alternating Hand Dyed Skeins For Invisible Transitions and a Stretchy Edge on the SDK blog.
A note on construction:
The River Path Shawl is worked side to side on the bias. Differing rates of decrease along the top edge and the right side of the shawl create a triangle shape. Due to the differing rates of decrease, it may be helpful to have multiple row counters or another method of keeping track of the decreases.
