River Walk Mitts
ALLYSON: So Carina! When we decided to do a joint pattern for the book I thought of the river or water prompt and you just went to town and knit an entire mitt in like a night!
CARINA: I did! I loved the theme. The Midwest is often called “The Third Coast” and I’ve even heard “No Coast” lately. I had been thinking about how rivers and lakes are our coasts, so your idea was easy for me to run with.
ALLYSON: I’m so glad! And I love how you worked in all the beautiful bridges both of our cities are known for—Kansas City and Chicago have these huge architectural bridges, and that motif works really well in the mitt part of the pattern.
CARINA: Thanks. It was another thing I’d recently been drawn to—the anatomy of bridges. I had been nerding it up on podcasts and websites about bridges, so the timing was perfect.
